With all the rain we have had lately, everything is really growing. The potatoes have started popping up and look so cute! Still many weeks until they are ready for harvest, but I am SO EXCITED. All the rain also means weeds. Seems like a good weekend project to me.

Recently I read up on Justin Rhodes method of planning your homestead, though applicable to gardens, container plants, etc. I really enjoyed it and am thinking of putting a workshop together for those in the garden club who are interested.

2023 Season Ends
2023
Well, the first season of selling at the market has ended. No profit, but lots of fun, and that certainly seems more important at this time .

Lessons learned:
​
Plan ahead - Do not be making spices at midnight when you need to be setting up your table at 7PM
​
Do better with stock - I lost a few orders this season due to running out of stock (the Garlic Herb Blend really is popular - and delicious)
​
Keep up with customers - I had some customers who were willing to meet out of market or in off hours for purchasing, but I got sick and while I was able to meet up with some customers, others I dropped the ball on.
​
Keep better track of money in and out - Yup, no idea how much I spent, or made. Good thing this is just a hobby.
